Leadership, or Binge and Purge...
AP: Shadow President Dick Cheney Defends Use of Profanity2 comments
"I expressed myself rather forcefully, felt better after I had done it," [Dick] Cheney told broadcast sources.
Cheney said those who heard the putdown agreed with him.
"I think that a lot of my colleagues felt that what I had said badly needed to be said, that it was long overdue."
My.
Well...
You know what?
I think Dick Cheney is a corrupt, arrogant asshole, and has personally overseen the brutal slaughter of thousands of innocent Americans and Iraqis.
Ahhh, I feel much better now that I've said that.
I think many of my fellow Americans will agree with me.
Many Americans feel that what I just said badly needed to be said, and was way overdue.
Now, we can all move on.

Speaking of moving on...Did you catch the item in the Oregon press about the Bush/Nader deal?

Timx,
You've touched on a basic American political premise: The enemy of my opponent is my friend.
A month or so ago, I listened to a young woman calling into Air America Radio (http://www.airamericaradio.com) from San Diego, CA, who attended Ralph Nader's campaign kickoff there. The event seemed odd enough, since San Diego is historically extremely conservative and not overly supportive of liberal muckrakers. But, nevertheless, there was Nader, bashing Bush (and Kerry) and raising funds.
This woman reported being amazed at the large number of young people moving through the crowd, raising cash for Nader, who were openly Bush supporters.
If you'll recall, Republicans across the board supported Al Sharpton's presidential campaign, just to try to raise havoc with the Democratic field.
You'll find we're not nearly so sporting as you are in the UK.
