The Poor Man's Ari
Am I the only one who thinks that poor Scott McClellan is hopelessly and helplessly unsuited for his current job? It's painful to watch him bailing out the Titanic with a shot glass.0 comments
At another stirring White House press briefing:
SCOTT McCLELLAN: What I'm telling you is that the President has always believed marriage is a sacred institution between a man and a woman;
Is he counting all those who got drunk and ran down to City Hall?
SCOTT McCLELLAN: that it should be an institution that is protected. And that's what the President has always made very clear.
The question that keeps going unasked at all these things is: "Protected" from WHAT? Where's the attack? Who's attacking? Who's being attacked? Anybody have any idea? Or is this just a rerun of "The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming!"? Except this time, they're using live legislation.
Basically, I just see a whole lot of hatred being thrown around.
Hmmmmm...protected, hunh?
So, meanwhile, this means beating your wife will remain protected.
Making her give up her career so she can fetch you beers is protected.
Parceling out just enough money to her to cover the Marshmallow Fluff supply is protected.
Insulting your wife in public is protected.
Screwing that hot new thing at the office is protected.
Getting drunk with your friends, and coming home and raping your wife while she's asleep or ill is protected.
Keeping her in the dark about your financial dealings, that's protected.
But, loving and caring for someone, and attempting to protect your legal rights as a couple in a court of law, are not.
OK, got it.
P.S. Scott, yes, do quit your day job. "I know Ari Fleischer, and sir, you are no Ari Fleischer!"
P.P.S. Anyone remember Iraq? Or the Economy? How about the World Trade Center?
Nah...Didn't think so.
